The Student Leadership team at UPSS plays an important role by supporting extracurricular activities that fall within the strategic direction of the school. This support is achieved physically through human resource management and financially through fundraising.
The Student Council is made up of 10 elected members comprising 2 School Leaders, 4 House Leaders and 4 Student Council representatives. Each group has separate, delineated roles according to their designation, but work as a collective body to hold meetings, make decisions and carry them out to support the students, teachers, school and community. The Student Council surveys the needs of these groups and prioritises to provide the best support possible.
As a body, it is able to organise and manage activities where human resource is the necessary component. Often funding is required and the Student Council is constantly fund raising throughout the year.
On average, the Student Council raises over $3000 a year - all of which goes back into the community in some form. Each year, it plans one major project that supports the school.
