The role of the School Chaplain serves a variety of purposes, from providing a listening ear in times of trouble to mentorship and support for students, encouraging them to make the most of their time at school and in life choices. The Chaplain at Urangan Point State School works alongside the rest of the staff providing social and emotional support to our students and families in order to enable them to feel nurtured and cared for, ready to learn.
Also offered weekly is a free breakfast club and voluntary spiritual based program known as Kids Club. The Chaplain can offer spiritual based activities for children who have parental consent, however majority of the work the Chaplain does in the school is not of a spiritual nature.
If your child is having difficulties with friendships, attending school, dealing with grief, loss, separation or even the loss of a pet, the Chaplain is more than able to provide extra support for your child. Contact the school to organise connection with the Chaplain. They would love to help.
